This weekend we travelled 3 and a half hours along the coast past Sur to an area called Ras Al Haad. This is an area that is known for it's turtles, but still difficult enough to get to that we were the only ones there. There were 12 of us who travelled together and plenty of room to ourselves. We camped on a cliff above the beach and slept under the stars. The pictures are better than any description I could ever give it, so I'll let you take a look and see what you think.

the small baby turtles look so cute
Cool turtles!! What a great opportunity to see them in their habitat. and the babies! thanks for sharing the pictures, Jeff.
You look great, Campbell! Miss you lots!
I did endless "turtle walks" when I was studying dolphins in Sarasota, Florida. In the early hours before I hit the bay for studies, I'd walk the beach looking for evidence of mama turtles and their nests. When we spotted any we'd document the location and set up a net around the nest to keep out dogs, raccoons, and warn people of the nest's location. Never ONCE did I actually see a turtle face-to-face and I never made it out to watch the eggs hatch from any of the nests I'd found. You are so lucky!
